3rd Dan
Founder & Head Instructor, JMT Taekwondo
Where it started, I started training in 1987 with Chang Lee's Taekwondo in Sunnyvale, Texas where they started their dream to teach Taekwondo in the 1980s after moving from Denver, Colorado. Grandmater Lee and Master Lee continues to be active in martial arts today at their Mequite Location at Town East Mall.
When a new Chang Lee's Taekwondo location opened up in Rowlett, I started training with Master Howard Nixon around 1994 and earned my 1st Dan black belt in 1998. Master Nixon continues to teach marital arts at Rowlett Martial Arts Center in Rowlett.
Here I am today and I now hold 3rd Dan black belt as of March 2022. I have always dreamed of teaching and giving back in the community what I have learned over the 35+ years of Taekwondo on and off, and to teach students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing with Sign Language. I welcome ALL students who have the desire to learn the art of Taekwondo.
When I am not teaching, I am always learning and training on the mat at Chang Lee's Taekwondo in Mesquite to stay in shape, fellowship with other students, and stay in the community where I feel most connected to. I always have to train hard to feel good afterwards, and knowing that I have accomplished a great workout!
